Pineapple Smoothie

What makes this healthy:According to WebMd pineapples are high in vitamin C which helps your immune system, strengthens bones, keeps gums healthy, aids digestion, they also bromelian which helps reduce arthritis pain.

How to tell if a Pineapple is fresh: I worked at Einstein Bros Bagels and helped make the parfaits which contained pineapple and they told me how to tell if a pineapple is fresh, they also taught me how to cut it. When buying a pineapple pick the leaves at the top, if the leaf comes out easy its good if it doesn’t that means its not ripe. You want the one that has the leaf that comes out easy. I have also been told by another shopper buying pineapples that you can smell them, if they have a strong pineapple odor they are good if not don’t buy them. How to cut the pineapple: when cutting do not use the middle it is very hard to chew and doesn’t taste very good. Skin the pineapple and cut in horizontal spheres then cut around the middle, throw the middle out and then cut up the extra pieces into smaller pieces. Thats how I cut mine, if you have an easier way or your own way it works to.

Most smoothie recipes that I find on the internet all contain ice, which I think think the ice makes it runny. I like my yogurt thick so I came up with my own recipes for smoothies. Heres my Pineapple smoothie.

Fresh Pineapple

8 oz plane yogurt (I used wallaby Organic Yogurt)

Pinch of sugar (Optional)

Blend together until smooth and enjoy.

Pour the bag of lettuce into the salad along with the bag of wonton strips, add the mandarine oranges (sliced) and chicken, top off with dressing of your choice. (I used Olive Gardens Italian dressing).

They also aid in digestive health, balance the acid alkaline ratio in your body, reduce blood pressure, prevent tooth decay, reduce the risk of colon cancer, and are rich in fiber. The lemon helps in digestion and skin.
